Feel Good Fridays: Pu-Berry Smoothie Recipe

This Wednesday, we discussed the onset of puberty in your sons. Diet plays a huge roll in how they will get through the “Wonder Years”.  Going to Wendy’s daily won’t be helping them handle all those hormones that are taking a toll on their body!  Its all about balance. Proper nutrition assists to healthy, glowing skin.

At school your son may be told that during puberty there will be hormonal imbalances and that these are main causes of acne and other skin conditions. If you have a naturally oily skin, the imbalance can seem to be MUCH worse. Some fruits and vegetables have natural anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.  Which in turn help to regulate your hormone levels.
So what fruit is the best in fighting the puberty battle? Pomegranate! Pomegranate fights cell aging, helps in skin renewal and is packed full of antioxidants.  Pomegranate juice may play a role in reducing the risk of cancer, reducing cholesterol, and protecting arteries from clogging. This smoothie recipe could do wonders for your son’s overall well being!


1/4 Cup Organic Raspberries
1/4 Cup of Almond Milk or Kefir
1/4 Cup Organic Pomegranate Seeds
1 Organic Kiwi
1 Organic Green Apple
Powdered Ginger (To Taste)


Blend well and drink within half an hour for optimum efficiency! 🙂
